At Palma Airport, a private 89 Transfers vehicle is pre-priced per vehicle, a taxi runs on the official meter, buses cost less where a direct airport line exists, and shared shuttles make several hotel stops. For the six routes below, compare quoted private fares, estimated taxi fares, published bus fares and typical journey time before choosing.
Quick comparison for 6 destinations
This table compares one-way daytime distance and drive time, 89 Transfers’ per-vehicle prices for 1 and 4 passengers, official taxi estimates for 1–4, direct airport bus fares and times where available, and generic shared shuttle arrangements. It shows whether each mode travels directly to your hotel or makes additional stops.
| Destination | Distance / drive time | 89 Transfers private transfer, 1 / 4 passengers | Official taxi estimate, 1–4 passengers | Public bus from PMI | Shared shuttle |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alcúdia | 59 km / 48 min | €145 / €151 per vehicle | ≈ €78–87 | A32 in summer / A33 in winter; €13.50 cash / €8.10 card; about 55–60 min | Price varies by operator; several hotel drops |

How to read the table
- Distance and drive time: One-way daytime route figures from 89 Transfers route data, autumn 2026.
- Private transfer: Per-vehicle one-way daytime prices, including VAT and excluding paid extras, from 89 Transfers route data, autumn 2026. The 1- and 4-passenger prices are totals for the vehicle.
- Taxi estimate: An estimate for 1–4 passengers, calculated from the official tariff in Decree 20/2025 and the route distances. Estimates exclude waiting and traffic. See the taxi prices page.
- Public bus: Lines, fares and journey times are from the airport bus guide, consulted 8 November 2026 and compiled from TIB and EMT data. TIB’s 7 August 2025 release describes the airport lines and service.
- Shared shuttle: A generic shared minibus or coach carries several groups and drops them at hotels. Prices vary by operator.
- Door-to-door: Private transfer: yes. Official taxi: yes. Public bus: no, you leave from an airport stop and may need onward transport. Shared shuttle: no direct individual journey, as several groups are dropped at hotels.
Private transfer
89 Transfers offers private airport transfers to destinations across Mallorca, with up to 12 passengers in one booking and vehicle. The route prices above are one-way daytime prices per vehicle, include VAT, and exclude paid extras. Check a destination page or the booking page for the price for your route and group.
Your group travels in one private vehicle, so there are no other hotel drop-offs on the way. Prices depend on the destination and passenger count. The booking form shows any applicable surcharges before you confirm. 89 Transfers operates daily from 07:00 to 22:00.
A 1-hour free waiting period applies from the actual landing time. If the flight is delayed, the delay is added, up to a maximum of 2 hours from actual landing, under T&C §6.5. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup.
Official taxi
An official taxi is a direct option from the rank outside PMI arrivals, and its estimate is lower than the private transfer price for 1–4 passengers on all six routes in this table. The final meter fare depends on the tariff time band and may also reflect waiting or traffic. Taxi child seats are not guaranteed.
A standard taxi takes up to 4 passengers. Estimates in the table use the T1 and T2 tariff bands under Decree 20/2025, in force since 25 May 2025, as published on the 89 Transfers taxi prices page. They exclude waiting and traffic, so treat them as estimates rather than fixed quotes.
Choose a taxi if you want a direct ride and its estimated fare suits your group. The tariff adds +€3.00 for 5–6 passengers and +€6.00 for 7–8, but a standard taxi takes 4 passengers. Check the taxi rank outside the arrivals hall for an available vehicle.
Public bus
The bus is the lowest-cost option where an airport line serves your destination directly, but it follows a route and schedule rather than taking you to your hotel door. TIB airport lines run from early morning to midnight, with average frequency of 45–50 minutes, according to TIB’s August 2025 release.
EMT A1 runs between the airport and Palma centre; the airport bus guide lists about 20 minutes to Plaça d’Espanya and fares of €5 cash or €3 by card. TIB’s A11 serves Palmanova and Magaluf. Paying by bank card costs less than buying a single ticket from the driver, according to the airport bus guide consulted 8 November 2026.
The same guide lists Alcúdia service as A32 in summer and A33 in winter. There is no direct airport bus to Pollença or Cala d’Or. Cala Millor has no direct winter airport line: A43 runs to Manacor in winter, replacing A42. Check the current timetable and fare with the operator before travelling.
Shared shuttle
A shared shuttle is a seat in a minibus or coach that carries several groups and drops them at hotels. Prices vary by operator, and the journey is longer than a direct drive because of the additional stops. The confirmed route information provides no operator names or shuttle prices to compare here.
This can suit travellers who are comfortable sharing the vehicle and allowing time for hotel drop-offs. Check the operator’s route, pickup instructions, luggage rules and total fare before booking. A shared shuttle is not the same as a private vehicle travelling directly to one destination.
Which option is best for you?
The best choice depends on your destination, budget and arrival time. The bus is cheapest where a direct line serves your route; taxi estimates are lower than private transfer prices for 1–4 people on the six routes above. For a direct ride after 22:00, use a taxi because 89 Transfers does not operate then.
| Situation | Best choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest fare and your destination has a direct airport bus | Public bus | Published bus fares are lower than private transfer and taxi estimates. |
| A direct ride for 1–4 passengers, including after 22:00 | Official taxi | The taxi estimate is lower than the private fare on these six routes, and the rank is outside arrivals. |
| A private vehicle for a group of up to 12, travelling 07:00–22:00 | 89 Transfers | The route price is per vehicle. The booking price is confirmed before you book. |
| You are comfortable sharing the ride and making several hotel stops | Shared shuttle | It carries several groups; prices and arrangements vary by operator. |
| Travelling after 22:00 | Official taxi for a direct resort ride | 89 Transfers does not operate after 22:00. EMT A1 also runs late to Palma centre. |
Is the fixed price really fixed? What costs extra
The price confirmed at booking is final, and later rate changes do not affect that confirmed booking, under T&C §5.2. Charges apply if you request changes or use paid extras. The table lists the extra costs and fees provided by 89 Transfers’ booking form and terms, checked 8 November 2026.
| Item | Cost | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Extra suitcase, or suitcase over 23 kg | €7 each | Booking form |
| Golf bag | €7 each | Booking form |
| Bike box | €15 each; maximum 4 bicycles per service, and each bicycle must be in a transport box | Booking form; T&C §8.4 |
| Child seat: infant, toddler or booster | Free; request when booking | T&C §§9.2, 9.4 |
| Extra stop not included in the booking | Charged only if you request it | T&C §5.2 |
| Waiting beyond the included waiting time | €60 per hour, charged proportionally | T&C §6.5 |
| Pickup between 20:00 and 22:00 | A night surcharge may apply; it varies by destination and group size and is included in the price shown before booking | Booking form |
| Short-notice booking | A last-minute fee may apply; shown before confirming | Booking form |
| Online card payment | 7% handling fee | Booking form |
| “Pay Later”: cash or card to the driver | No fee; nothing due at booking | Booking form |
| Cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup | Free | 89 Transfers booking conditions |
Each passenger’s included allowance is 1 suitcase up to 23 kg, 1 carry-on and 1 personal item, under T&C §8.1. T&C §6.5 provides 1 hour of free waiting from actual landing; if the flight is delayed, the delay is added, up to a maximum of 2 hours from actual landing.
